July UBR match - Two Brothers Rifle Range

The July Two Brothers UBR match was contested yesterday. I don't have the energy to look through the archives, but it's possible that we had our best turnout ever. If not the highest number of rifles, then it was very close. 29 competitors shot in all four classes. There were eleven in Custom and eight in Unlimited. We had eight Grand Aggs of 500 or higher. It was possible also the best weather we've had this season. While we did have some tricky wind to deal with, the skies were blue and the temps started in the low 70's, climbing to the mid 80's by the end of the match. Special appreciation to Danny Hensley and Steve Jaynes who made the 5 1/2 hour drive from western VA to shoot with us and a new shooter, Jason Short, who came with Chester Bradford. It seems that the new shooters Chester brings nearly always beat him.....the first time... I think there may be some strategy involved. But Chester won't admit it. Anyway, we're glad to have Jason and look forward to shooting with him again at TBRR as well as Red Brush. BTW- you will see by the scores that Jr Rigsby has returned to his winning ways taking the GA in both Custom and Unlimited. Thanks to all who helped with targets, scoring and everything else. It is much appreciated.

The next match in our area will be at Red Brush on July 21. There will also be a match at Strategic Edge on July 28. If you are in eastern Ky or thereabouts, there will be a match on July 21st at Buck Creek. It's great when there are more matches within driving distance than we are able to shoot. Come and shoot with us and be sure to mark your calendar and make reservations for the UBR Nationals at Buck Creek on August 31st and September 1st.
