Shooting when I can
Silver $$ Contributor
Anyone going to be at the match driving up from Columbus,GA???

And also how is the match ran and how are the firing points?

It will be warm.

Check-in starts around 8:00 am at the 600 yard line. Shooting starts at 9:00 am for first relay. Three relays with third relay starting in the pits. It is a basic 3X600; awards for individual matches only, not the total aggregate. F-class shooters welcome; this match typically has far more sling shooters than F-class. Bring own refreshments; good bathroom facilities and running water for all the comforts of home. The firing points are like any other range, on the ground.

Website is www.rbgc.org

What would you specifically want to know? If this is Eric U, you already know how to win there. If this is some other Eric, I heard Eric Uptagrafft from AMU is coming from your area. You could contact him directly to share a ride.

This is some other Eric, But I know one or two of the guys at amu.

Was mostly wondering condition is it extremely windy or really bad mirage since blakely,ga has both of them and they are bad at times. Kinda wondering how are the firing points whether they are grass, dirt, covered, in the hot sun?

Ill be shooting my third ever sling prone, using a palma rifle. So it will be sweet if i can get some position tips from other shooters.

I am shooting Palma and there will be others I'm sure plus a mixture of anything you can imagine. The firing points are all grass. Closed-in range compared to Blakely with trees on all four sides. Yes, it will be in the sun, no covered firing line. The winds will be dependent on conditions that day. It is much "trickier" than Blakely which is open and thus a more "solid" range regarding the wind patterns. RBGC is trickier than some because of a bowl-like effect with more swirling conditions whatever the wind happens to be. Range is not flat; you shoot from atop a berm and over a deep cutout area until the 300 and 200 yard lines which are also on berms. There will be plenty of flags, but minimum mirage to look at and guide you. You can sometimes find it on the number boards. Nice berm right behind the targets so it is simple to see shots hit on your target when pulling.

Plenty of people to help you out. Don't be concerned. Look me up when you get there.
