joypod mounting. AR?

I'm in the process of buying a used joypod from this forum.

The main rifles will be a Savage ftr and an Anschutz 64mpr

I guess those are ideal, the bipod slides right into the rails?

What about a varmint AR that has a bare tube with one sling stud sticking out?
Is there hardware available to make that work?
I could stick with the Sinclair bipod on the ARs if its going to be too much PITA.

thanks

the bipod attaches to any type of Picatinny rail. it comes with a Picatinny rail that slides into an Anschutz type slot

I thought the text read that it went in the slot direct with an adapter for rails.

Your explanation makes more sense with the pictures. thanks

So I need a rail that attaches to the stud for the ARs.
I see a few such things on the internet.
I wonder if they're solid enough for f-class level shooting.

Probably could have somebody drill and tap the tube for a rail but don't wanna.

the stud to picatinny adaptor may work, but a direct bolt on Picatinny to the hand guard will be better i believe. Is this a .223 or an AR-10?

stud adapter may work ok with low recoil calibers. however, you just bought one of the best, if not the best bipods (and most expensive) on the market. i use it with .223, 6BR, and .308. i would hate to compromise it's performance with a less than optimal mounting arrangement

I use a stud to rail adapter on mine for my joypod. I used 3m double sided tape also to take out any movement side to side that might happen.

I don't have a joypod, but if the handle comes off like a NEO you could get a shorter handle. I have a super short one for shooting specialty pistols off my NEO. Call Ernie he probably has a solution.

I tried the joypod on a AR but the mag well interferes with joystick so not joy :(

kzin,
the Joypod will come with a mount that will mate up to the JoyPod for mounting. Is your AR forearm round or flat on the bottom?

I found out my 223 upper has two tapped holes and an available pic rail section so I'm fine there.

The 22lr varmint upper is round with only 1 tapped hole for a stud.
Post 7 verified that there are adapters available that work reasonably well for that.

Next issue is how the joypod works for 223 rapid fire strings but I don't have to resolve every question before I even get it :)

I shot well enough with my sinclair this morning that I wondered why I have a new 600$ bipod on the way.
This thing could end up the accurateshooter community joypod :)
