Well, my local shop finally got some Tikka T1X's in stock, so I pulled the plug and brought one today, a 22-rim fire.

I haven't bought a rifle in a long time, so I am looking forward to wringing this one out with a brick of CCI Standard Velocity ammo. Hope it's as good as my superb Tikka centerfires. Going to order a bore guide tonight from Bore Tech and start looking for a vertical pistol grip to replace the standard factory grip.

With the escalating costs and shortages of centerfire rifle components, this 22 should give me some more economical trigger time. :) You can't have too much trigger time. ;)

Special thanks to all the members who gave me info on this model and helped me decide on it.

I'll put mine against any other 22 bolt action rifle costing 3 times the price, anyday. Four shots at 50 yards thought it was three but after checking the box of ammo I shot it with it's four.
The one pound trigger is part of the equation.Sometimes different lot numbers shoot differently.

That's really great shooting.

I adjusted the trigger down to 2 1/2 lbs. to match all my other precision hunting rifles. I like to keep the trigger pulls as consistent as possible.

Congrats on your new rifle. I have one and it’s a good shooter with pretty much anything I’ve fed it. Look at Jard triggers, best money I spent on mine.

All my rifle for hunting are set at 1lb, and all are drop tested, however I don't recommend 1lb triggers for everyone.

I have one as well. I haven't got to shoot it a lot but from what little I have shot it, it looks very promising. I found a used vertical grip and fore-end for mine and like it a lot better.

Was at the range yesterday, not the best conditions with wind gusts 20 to 30 mph, 90+ degrees and mirage.

Shot 6 each, 5 shot groups all off a bipod (Harris) with rear bag on the bench; CCI Standard Vel ammo. Bushnell Elite Scope, 4 x 16, 50 yards.

.776*, .401, .526, .526, .589, .651 Happy with this given the less than optimum conditions. Also, it's been a long time since I shot off a bipod, but I just can't resist a practical favor to my shooting.

*w/o clean barrel shot, .484

No extraction or ejection issues but the bolt had to be worked aggressively to prevent ejected case sitting in mag well. Only criticism thus far is the hard plastic butt plate which tends to slip in the shoulder. Not crazy about the plastic magazine but will just have to wait and see if it holds up.

Ordered Rod Guide from Bore Tech. Looking for vertical pistol grip.
