JBM Online and Max Point Blank Range Radius

Flouncer

What the heck it works for me !!
I have used JBM since I don't remember. More recently to evaluate the effectiveness of hunting bullet terminal velocity and especially performance in that regard. I cannot find JBM's definition or meaning of the term point blank range. The range is clearly illustrated from a run with a given velocity. I thought the main function of the term was to define a circular target area, or radius, and how far away a bullet would stay within that sight radius. Shoot within a tube. I thought that radius would be the vital zone of the target, or similar area. I can't find this definition of how big their MaxPBR is. I see my MaxPBR displayed in yards, I don't know how big that area is. anyone know ? - thanks

I can use their data run to determine a 4-inch high to 4-inch low distance. I understand that. I ask because they, their data run uses the term and I want to see what the size component is.

It's controlled by the "Vital Zone Radius (2.0 to 100.0 in)" entry at the bottom of the Trajectory form. The MaxPBR is the maximum distance at which the bullet trajectory will still be within the radius defined by the Vital Zone entry.

Yes ! I didn't see that because . .. . . The default is 5 inches. A 10-inch tube. The Sierra manual used 6 iinches IIRC. Thanks Scott. I look at that many times and didn't see it.
