JARD Trigger on Savage A17???

Anyone have a JARD trigger on a Savage A17?

Looking to upgrade the trigger on my A17 and saw an ad for JARD. Don't know anything about the trigger assemblies they offer for the A17. Would appreciate your comments.

Have a couple Jard triggers, but none on a A17. However the one's I have, I like and they adjust down very nicely to light, crisp let off.

I bought a Savage A17 Target Sporter Laminate shortly after they came out with that particular model. To say the trigger was bad, is putting it mildly because it was terrible. No matter if I adjusted it heavier or lighter, it never changed and had a very heavy pull. Not only was it a heavy pull rate but it had a mile of pretravel and that long pretravel was crunchy and notchy, it felt like two pieces of gravel rubbing together as I pulled the trigger.

There were no aftermarket trigger parts available then so I had to do my own trigger upgrade. I spent well over two hours sanding, polishing, shortening springs, and test fitting multiple times before I reached a final product. The end result paid off because my A17 now has a trigger that breaks just a little over 2lbs with just a very slight hint of pretravel. It's been a few years so I don't recall, exactly, what I all did to my trigger but I believe I posted about it over on rimfire central dot com.

As for the Jard replacement trigger for the A17's, I've talked to a couple guys over on RFC that bought them and they had mixed reviews. It may be worth signing up as a member over on RFC and talking to some of the guys that have purchased a Jard trigger for their A17.

My only experience with Jard was some years ago I bought their replacement trigger for a Rem 597 HB 22mag I used to have and that experience did not instill a great deal of confidence with their rimfire triggers, at least it didn't for me. I will say, their customer service was excellent though and their tech ended up giving me his personal cell # because I had to call so many times.
