Ok, over 9 months ago y'all helped me out on a few questions about a new build. I ordered it in January and finally received it last week. The wait was on the Mcmillan stock. I decided to have Mark Chanlynn of Rocky Mountain Rifle Works build the gun. He still makes his own barrels, which have devastated prairie dogs now for years. I ended up going with a 6-250 based of off his advice, advice from some of you, and the ease of creating brass. This gun will be used past the 300 yard mark that I normally use as the cutoff for my 204. I'm using Lapua with CCI benchrest primers. The gun specs are: 28" stainless rem varmint taper 1in8" barrel, rem m700 short action, Jewell trigger, bedded in a Mcmillan A3 tactical stock, Picatinny rail loaded with 20MOA, harris swivel bipod, and a Leupold VX-3 8.5-25x-50mm with the Varmint hunters reticle. I've shot it three different times now: break-in, load development, load development. The gun so far has been above my expectations. After the first 7 shots of break-in is stopped copper fouling. I have already gotten 2 loads pretty good. I still need some work on the 105 amax. If y'all have any suggestions on loads for that feel free to post. I'm trying 32.5g Varget. I will be increasing the OAL. The 58g vmas so far have been "ok", nothing to write home about. 65g seem good. 87 vmax is looking promising. The best load so far has been the first try with the barnes 80g TTSK at 2.5"OAL with 35.5g Varget. I will say that half of the error associated with the groups is due to me shooting off of a lead sled instead of bags. It's just a bit more comfortable, but I'm not quite as steady. Here's some pics. Thanks again for everyone's advice.
