Good stuff inside. I especially like the section on annealing - it's going to start some arguments, er, discussion.

Not to say what I'm reading isn't good stuff. At the end of the bullet pointing chapter. There is a mention of a live fire test on bullet sorting. I think that is the info that would be the most beneficial to the shooters. Especially when a lot of manufactures are going to tipped bullets. I myself have equipment to trim and tip but don't really care to take the extra steps. I do sort by weight.

Good to hear. I attended the seminar in Dallas a while back and if I understood correctly they said this latest book would be mailed to attendees once back from printers.

I just finished the book. It's quite good. It covers a number of the steps we reloaders perform in search of Nirvana but rather than just blah, blah, blah about it like we do on these forums, Mr. Litz actually tests each of these procedures to see which work, which don't, and how much they matter.

He also addresses a couple of widely held beliefs by shooters who slept through 7th grade science class and, as you might suspect if you did not sleep through science class, debunks these myths.

This book is worth reading for any serious shooter. It doesn't cover each and every aspect of reloading, but it hits many of the areas most of us are interested in and nearly everything in the book is backed up by genuine testing and, what's more important, careful analysis of the test results and what's even more important than that, thoughtful reflection on the end results.

Bravo Mr. Litz.

I am interested in hearing why you think that?
Lets just say i am at the moment involved in a carbonfiber wrapped barrels project for a mayor manufacturer and have some in-depth knowledge as to how and why things work the way they do. i could explain some details as to why you got the resoults you did in tests and what you missed ,maybe trough inbox or mail?

Just ordered it. Had surgery on my trigger finger. Going to be down for a couple weeks, might as well learn something while I wait.

I have read it and have to say that some parts are not up to standard of his previous books.

The part about barrels is particulary 'superficial'

That's such a huge topic that you can't expect much more in that format. You could write several entire books on carbon fiber barrels and not exhaust the topic. For a single chapter, it covers a lot in a manner that's still accessible to the layman, even if it does present more questions than it answers. That's just the nature of books like this, and frankly, composites.
