Got a new barreled action and no stock Good news though stock is on UPS, and on the way I couldn't wait so I started breaking in barrel.
Krieger 27 inch Barrel, and Bat action in a 6.5x 47 . I decided I would find my max load with 130 berger vlds coated with HBN and rel 17. The last round I fired was 44 gr. of the 17 with a muzzle velocity of 3156. Bolt had a little bit of a heavey lift, but not bad. I'm going to make 43 gr my max because it's just to much trouble to get the 44 gr to fit in case.
Is anyone else getting this velocity or is chronograph wrong?

I have never tried RL 17, but I have been using Varget recently. I have a 22.5" barrel, and using 39 grains I was getting 2960 FPS with the Berger 130 VLD. This was more velocity then I was expecting. So maybe your chrono is not off, but I can't say.
