I shoot an AR-15 and soon, a Howa, both chambered in 223 Remington. I was curious on what is considered a "loose" neck, in terms of dimensions. 1x fired Winchester brass from my AR-15 (Krieger barrel in 223 Remington) shows a neck diameter of .253 to .254". Is that considered "loose" or? Some factory loaded ammo shows a neck diameter of around .248". That would suggest the brass is undergoing at least a .006" neck diameter expansion when fired.
