I doubt you could get a fat enough bullet to slow the 6.5 x 47 Lapua and it has too much case volume to load that little powder. The 300 whisper and 300 Blackout combo would be more for what you are looking for in a subsonic/supersonic duel purpose rifle.

You can do that for most any caliber.

I shot 10.5 grs in my 308 with 175smk subsonic. Case fill on trailboss is high and it not HOT per say.. safest powder to work with like that imo..

Working down with TrailBoss almost always works.

Getting consistent subsonic velocities can be harder than getting subsonic in the first place. Bore condition seems to matter. Barrel and chamber temp seem to matter.

In my 6.5 X 47, shooting a three groove, melanite Pac Nor barrel, with WC coated bullets, using CCI primers 140 grain Hornady ELD bullets, i settled on 9.3 grains of Trail boss at 1040fps. I just went out and tried 140 gr. Nosler Accubonds with 9.3 grains of Trail boss and they are below 1000fps. My guess is with Accubonds you would have to go to 9.5 grains of Trail Boss powder to get up to 1050 fps range.

Can the published low fps loads be used that are intended for cast bullets? I used to shoot a 7mm Rem mag with small charges of pistol powder and cast bullets. Don't have any chrono data. Look up cast bullet data. Be safe.

Reduced loads from Hodgdens. Can apply to any caliber. Don't understand why you would want subsonic. I know someone at the range with a subsonic rifle, I think it's called a 30 Whisper. He uses about 5 grs of unique and a 110 gr bullet, 800 fps. You can hear the firing pin fall and about a second later you hear it hit the target at 100 yds. The trajectory of a brick.
