Is There Any Interest in Winchester .308 Palma Brass?

I have 100 Winchester Palma brass loaded from when I used to compete. If there is any interest in the brass, I would pull the bullets. Large primer pocket.

I have a barrel chambered in 308, 95 Palma reamer, that I got in a deal. I've never put it on the action because I have a 6br barrel on it that shoots great. What would you want for the brass? I thought Palma brass was all small primer? Please enlighten me. Josh

Not the OP , but the Winchester brand 308 Palma stamped brass I have is large rifle primer.

Current .308 Palma brass should be small rifle primer only. Where/when did this large rifle primer "Palma" brass originate?

I believe those were the team rounds that Bob Jensen loaded. The box said Palma. I have several hundred of them that are once fired. One of the last things that German Salazar kept was a loaded unopened box or Winchester Palma that Jensen loaded. He felt it was some of the finest stuff Bob turned out. I know the team won that year with that 308 Palma head stamp.

IMO - the two main advantages to using the current .308 Palma brass over "standard" (large rifle primer) .308 brass are the slightly increased case volume and extra metal in the casehead due to the smaller primer pockets. The small rifle primer pockets can definitely take higher pressure for a longer period of time as compared to standard brass. If there is older Palma brass floating around that uses a large rifle primers as shown above, I'd imagine the primer pockets would behave more like current standard .308 (large rifle primer) brass; meaning one of the advantages of using small rifle primer Palma brass would be lost. Nothing wrong with that, but I'd guess that most people are thinking of small rifle primer brass when they think of "Palma" brass.

I think this is correct. These cases are pretty rare these days and most people consider them collector items.
