is the savage 12 Fclass that bad of a gun??

Thanks for straightening me out Monte, must be the one I know of was a 12 Benchrest with the PALMA stock, or he worked it to fit the action he used.

I own two of the Savage Model 12 in 6.5 x 284 Norma. They both shoot great from 600 and 1000 yards. I am happy with both of them.

If I am reading it right from the August 2010 Guns magazine...

A four-man team used factory stock Savage rifles competing against custom-made rifles to win the national championship in both 600 and 1,000 yard F-class competition.

They also set a new record for score at 1,000 yards.

Again, if I am reading this right.

You did read it right and prior poster Mr. Milanuk is one of those fine shooters. Team Savage is: John Weil, Darrell Buell, Monte Milanuk and team captain, Stan Pate. Their record of wins is very impressive, especially since they are shooting factory rifles.
