I have a Remington brushed stainless VSF or VSSF 700 BDL rifle with a fluted barrel and the standard factory Remington stainless triggerguard and magazine hinge plate. I'm going be replacing this Remington trigger guard assembly with a matt black Badger style detachable magazine assembly. I want to spray paint the factory black Badger assembly in a stainless color similar to the Remington trigger guard that I'm removing. Is the Duracoat "titanium" a fairly good match? The guy at Duracoat told me the only other color that is remotely similar is "diamond plate silver".....but told me that "titanium" is probably closer in color. (but he wasn't entirely knowlegable about the stainless finishes or shades)
The Duracoat guy ALSO told me that after I'm done spraying the Badger in "titanium" , I can also spray clear Duracoat "satin" over it. That's double the paint cost and time. Is this clear coat really necessary.....as I don't handle my target rifles rough anyway.
