Is Savage Mk I FVT a Quality Rifle?

I was looking for a decent 22LR rimfire. I wanted it to be compact enough and light enough so my wife and daughter could be comfortable using it but I want a high quality, accurate rifle. Both my rimfires are too big for them.

I first saw the Savage for sale on the ODCMP web site, then went scouting around on Gunbroker. I was thinking the Mark I (single shot) would be all I'd need. Does anyone here have one? How is it? Are the sights any good, especially the rear sight?

I picked up 2 of the repeaters. The rifle is of decent quality, as with any savage rimfire you will have to open and close the bolt a few hundred times as the lift will be rather stiff. LOP on the stock is a bit short for my liking, Rifles seem to be very accure. Sights are Williams and come with 10 different front inserts. You could easily swap back and forth between scope and aperature sights. I have 2 different lamanite stocks from boyds coming, so accuracy has only been tested with aperature sights.
