Is my Remington VTR 220 swift rare?

I bought this gun new 10 years ago to shoot ground hogs off my family's farm. Since then we have tilled up and planted corn everywhere it would grow. I was pondering the idea of selling it so I started to search the web looking for a fair asking price. To this point I have managed to find 2 that was previously sold many years prior, but that's it. Does anyone have any knowledge about this rifle that could help me out? Its a Remington VTR chambered in 220 swift with less than 20 rounds through it. 26" barrel without the cut in muzzle brake. Black stock with grey inserts. Any help is appreciated.

I have one in .223 bought about the same time. How does yours shoot, round count? I may be interested if you want to sell it. Thanks

I am unaware of any strong "niche" following of that model, but all that means is I am unaware of it.

It is a mid-2000's Rem 700. I'd price it like a varmint special with plastic stock. Round count is going to matter

Snert, I think the reason for poor interest in these is that out of the box they didn’t shoot worth a crap. They had these little tabs at the front of the barrel that put pressure on it. I removed them and it shot better but that stock is crap. I put a Hoge on mine and it shot much better although not a barn burner. If I were to bed the action it would probably shoot better. Mine is a .223.

The triangular barrel is why

Something close to that now in a Rem 700 220 Swift with a 26" bbl is roughly $900 retail.

With that as a guide for the current version market price, you would take longer to sell at 900 or sell quicker for less. Some folks would want it just for the action even if they were going to pitch the trigger, stock, and bbl. They will offer you less than half of that... YMMV

Early this year I spotted a listing for a VTR on a gun shop's website in .223. Price was $700. It was sold by the time I got to the shop. The .220 Swift chambering might add a few dollars to the right person.

220 swift isn’t even listed as a chambering in blue book, and every VTR I have seen had integrated muzzle break, which your last appears to be missing. Seems like it could be a relatively rare version. But, as others stated, VTRs are not know for good accuracy, and they all look very utilitarian.
