Is M1A with synthetic stock NRA/CMP legal?

Is the M1A with synthetic stock and rubber butt plate sold by Springfield Armory legal for NRA/CMP service rifle competition?
Thanks,
Richard

Richard, in a word, no. I haven't seen the particular stock you mention, but the buttplate must be the M14 or M1 type (both were used on the M14). The synthetic GI stock os permissible and synthetic GI type stocks like the McMillan match stock are permissible, but oddball configurations are not.
