Contemplating rings for a new action - the action is white (Kelbly Panda, polished) and the scope is black. Am I the only one who thinks that matching the rings to the action, instead of the scope, looks goofy? :P

I have a Remington Ti action that used black rings (to match the scope) with - I think it looks a lot better that way. Match the rings to the scope.

Flame away, but as I look through a lot of the images of rifles on the main site (Gun of the Week archives), it seems that most people believe in the "match the rings to the action" theory, which clearly, is wrong. :-)

I like mine to match the scope, but I would rather know about the build. What caliber, barrel, twist, stock, colors and so on?

My new Silver Nightforce setting on top of a Silver BAT wears 4 Blue Burris Signature rings, and kinda matches both ends of the scope..
Momma always said I dressed funny 'O)

Personally, I don't care. Designer accessory ideas are better applied to women's clothing than rifles. If it's strong, accurate, and if it works - that's all I care about. Often it's the guy with the ugliest rifle that takes home the highest honors.

As of yet, undetermined. Could be an FTR rifle (.308), could be an Open rifle in 6MM, 7MM, or .30 cal. I only know the action (Panda F-Class) and scope (March 5-50x56).

Come on, if we don't vigorously debate these weighty issues, then people will never know the right way! :P

Form before function????
Some years ago I shot w/ a guy who always asked when finished shooting a string, "How did I look?"
Didn't much care what the target looked like.

I told you the right way! See my prior reply!...LOL!!!

I mix and match as it doesnt make a hill of difference,my worry is getting the gun itself in top shape, color coordination doesnt mean jack,LOL

Being a Raiders fan, I like the contrast of silver and black best. ;)

Not really..... it is a non issue to me..... just had to stir things up a bit. ;D WD

Since this is for the 5-50X March you just scooped in the Classifieds, you could use pink rings and it will still look fine. Good catch on that one.

busted...

and

hmmmm... who knows a good anodizer?

My AR's look like clown rifles from all the different colored pieces on them gathered over 2 years overseas and 7 tinkering and trading for parts to rebuild them. Then there are my blued 700 actions with a bead blast finished barrel a stainless lug and aluminum rings coated black all set in an unfinished laminate stock. Really need to finish this rifle but it shoots so well I shoot it instead.
