What would I look for to see if the action is cut for AW magazine.

It is a Defiance Deviant

Probably just call Defiance to be sure. I know BAT can tell me everything about an action with just the serial number.

AW is always wider in the back 2/3rds of the cut for the AW mag feed lips. An AW cut will generally work with an AICS mag. AW cut won't work with box magazines since there are no feed rails. If there are no feed rails it's an AW cut.
