Is ES/SD effected by O.A.L.

I have a 6 Dasher that I'm experimenting with. I use CCI 450 primer, 33 grains of Varget, with a 105 JLK same load as I shoot with the 105 A-Max. I had the JLK jumped .040. My ES was 6 and my SD was 2.5. The five shot group averaged 2921fps. The accuracy wasn't that great at 300 yards so I'm going to try jamming them. Will this affect the ES and SD readings and will I gain some velocity? Anyone shoot the 105 JLk and know the accuracy node. F.Y.I. I've only jammed bullets during fire-forming.

Jazz,

Count on a change in chrono readings anytime you change, alternate or substitute a component. This includes the catridge OAL. Ambient tempature differences can also affect readings.

Jazz,
Seating depth is how I fine tune my SD/ES, I don't shoot a dasher but I have friends that do and they say accuracy node out of there rifles is around 3030-3050 fps. I am not sure but I think they are shooting around 32.5 grains of H-4895, 105 VLD's jamming some, not sure how much.

Thanks for the replies. I'm getting really good accuracy with the amax at 2960. I would like to see how the JLK's workout though. I've got some loaded up, just haven't been to the range yet.

FWIW my straight 6BR loves the JLK's and puts them in the same hole as the Sierra's when loaded the same (which makes it easy to keep track of recipes) but.......
I didn't get the seating depth figured out till I tried Mr. Berger's reccomendation of doing a course ladder seating test that runs the gamut from touching the lands to .120 jump (touch,.030 jump,.060 jump, .090 and then .120 jump).
It only takes a few shots of each to find the sweet spot and it is usually .030 wide so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it if those bullets are meant to be for your rifle. My rifle pukes on these bullets when they get loaded anywhere near the rifling but they really shoot great when jumped and easily hold under an inch at 300 yards when the wind is down.
