Is bolt-action receiver blueprinting still a common thing?

We also had our own lab. If my maintenance guys had to enter, they had to clean up big time after they left. We had a very large machine shop on site that built parts for various rocket motors that we also built on site. The tool crib stored some of the critical measuring tools also. They were treated delicately to put it mildly.
Old Navy and others, if you don't mind saying.... what line of work were you in with sophisticated lab rooms etc. I think it is very interesting. Nuclear engineering? NASA, like someone said above. very cool. thanks in advance.

My comment was taken out of context. I was simply questioning the practicality of taking up basket case action and using it for anything serious. When plenty of non-basket cases are available. In my mind I wouldn't take a basket case block and build a race engine on it when I could get a good one to start.
