Just wondering if any of you guys out there are shooting Roberts 260 30 degree improved?? If so how well are they shooting and what powder do you find works the best with the 140 or 123?? Thanks guys!!

Give me a few days and I will share with you all my info. I am still testing.

Raptor,
I just completed pressure testing with Re17 and AR2209 (H4350) using 140VLDs, CCI BR2s, and formed Lapua Brass. Both powders easily produced my target velocity of 2950fps from a 28" barrel. The only hint of pressure with the hotter loads (2980fps+) was slightly less effort when decapping. ie slight head expansion.
My first fire-forming loads were 123 Scenars over 45.4gr H4350 for 3050fps and no pressure signs.
During initial accuracy testing with the 140s, both powders shot 3 shots under 1" at 300m. A good start.

Yes ive started shooting mine.

So far running between 43 and 45gr of H4350 and 140 hybrids in lapua brass. Very impressive vertical at 700 meters during a ladder test. Almost to the point where it gets hard determining where the holes are going. Velocities I dont know, but would love some pointers as to what these charges are running. So far about the 44gr mark seems to be a sweet spot. I dont have access to a reliable chrony to test for it.

Thanks for the replys!!!! I am waiting for mine to come back from the smith. How did they shoot the stock 260s when you were fireforming your cases?? Please keep me up dated as you do your testing and I will do the same with you guys, thanks again!!

Thanks Guys!! Please keep me up dated when you get more info if you would and I will post my results when I get mine done.

Im now looking at the 43.5gr to 43.8gr charges for 140 hybrids. Vertical spread during 5 shot replicated ladder testing at 900 meters was better than 1/4MOA and very similar to that at 700 meters. I now have to form 100 new cases ;D

1983,
Thanks for the reply and update. What kindof velocity are you getting with your load?? What kindof brass are you using?? Thanks!!

I just finished fireforming my first 100 pieces of brass. I loaded Nosler brass, CCI 200 primers (Federal's wont seat in Nosler brass), 140gr Hornady Match bullets (cheap), on top of 41.7gr of IMR-4831. I didnt chronograph these, since fireforming, but accuracy was excellent! Groups at 100 yds were 1/4 moa. I have another 100 of these loaded with Lapua brass, just need to get out and try them.

Now that I got some brass ready to load, I plan on starting with H4350 at 43.0 to 45.0, with 140gr Berger VLD Hunters.
