Is anyone reloading 22 WMR?

Am starting to reload for 22 wmr using Hornady 40 gr. V-max bullets. Would like to hear from anyone who has or is reloading this cartridge. Been reloading everything else for 51 years now and finally decided, what the heck, I’ll try this out. Guess it’s likely a silly idea, but any and all comments would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks everyone!

I read an article somewhere years ago about reloading rimfire. Seems biggest hurdle’s priming cases. Be interesting to read what comments others post here.

I've read a few articles many years ago about loading rimfires, but don't really remember the details other than they all agreed that it was a mild pain to ensure that the subsequent cartridge was aligned in the chamber to make sure the firing pin didn't strike previously dented areas.
As a child (MANY years ago) I remember reading a book that detailed Alaskan natives reloading .22LR cartridges and using a slurry of kitchen match tips mixed with something else and painted into the rim cavities with a fine brush as primer. May well have just been the writer's imagination and I certainly wouldn't advise experimenting with such a mixture.

There is a company that makes all the reloading gear to reload rimfires. I looked into it and it seems labor intensive to me. A search will bring up the company I am sure. They had kits to do 22LR and 22WRM. There was a tool to remove the firing pin dent and clean out the mixture and some compound to reprime. I believe they also gave info on using match tips to make primer mix. I shoot every known 22 WRM in my Marlin years ago and Armscorps 22mags shoot the best out of my gun by far, couldn't find them for years now they are on the net but I have not shoot them to see if they still excel in my gun.

Wait til the Dems get in. Remember the waiting line for ammo.
I am a survivor of the last great ammo shortage even at 51 years old.. Other than .22 mag I like alot of people am good.... But your correct , and according to statistics a democrap might get in this time.... Actually if that happens all that has been gained could be removed in a heartbeat , even judges.... Be prepared...

Another rimfire shortage, I won’t even hesitate to sell all my ammo at stupid prices the next time. I kept all my ammo like a fool. I figure I could have bought a pretty new truck if I had sold all of it.

Hope I never see it happen again.

I built a 25/223 "Goofy" just to shoot cast bullets. The Rebore job was a total failure. It will need a proper rebarrel/chamber & throat job to work correctly w cast bullets. So far I only got one load to shoot [pretty mediocre results] in three years of trying. Dam thing fouls horribly w jacketed bullets. mike in ct

Why ? It would cost you more to reload a rimfire like that, than to go buy a good 22 Hornet ( K it) and just keep reloading along with you other centerfires.

I had a Savage Hornet, traded it in for a CZ. CZ would not shoot cast bullets in a bucket, tried everything, wrong twist.
Traded back for my Savage. I have a load that shoots a plain base at 1070fps and is very accurate.

I bought my one and only pound of blue dot years ago to load the 223 down with the Calhoon load. It was quiet, but lacked the accuracy I wanted. I see there is some load data difference with the new blue dot in other cartridges. One may enter with a bit of caution.
