It just works. I don't knock the custom die makers but I often wonder, what's the real point. Yes, I've had them and it really just seems like an added expense vs spec'ing a reamer that yields a fired case that gets sized the same amount as the custom fitted die, to a given chamber. It just makes way too much sense and it works very well.Count me as somebody that learned something new today. That's a clever way to go about achieving "custom die" performance from off the shelf dies.
People have been winning matches and setting records since the 1960's with one-piece neck-honed out FL dies that do the same thing as bushing dies. Some people prefer one piece dies because bushings have a tiny bit of clearance and slop.
Same thing was done back then with more dies, each a different neck diameter. Or turn necks to different thicknesses.But people these days prefer to be able to actually adjust neck tension
Dusty, as you know, you can also adjust the neck tension using the K&M expander mandrels available in .0005 increments. Important or not, the expander die also eliminates most of the runout in the case & bullet.But people these days prefer to be able to actually adjust neck tension
