Is a .170 (308) freebore too much to shoot both 168 Juggernaut and 200.20x Berger's

Building a F TR in 308. Like to shoot both 168 Juggernaut and 200.20x Berger's. Is a .170 freebore too much for the 168's?

I would think 185s is about as low as you can go not 100% sure..I’m sure someone in the know will chime in.

do you mean the 185 Juggernaut? i believe that is the only Berger bullet with the Juggernaut name. if you are talking about the 185 gn Jugg, then no issue with a .170" freebore

I just had a barrel made by Benchmark. I loaded a dummy .308 with the Berger 200.20X. I seated the round 0.240 into the neck. Assuming I would load up to a 44.5gr load of Varget, that would leave me approximately 0.109" of headspace between the powder and the tail of the bullet.
They started with a SAAMI Match Reamer with a 0.110" freebore. When they tested the round in the chamber is seated the round an additional 0.004". I had asked them to give me a call when they got to this stage and after discussing it with them, I decided this was more than acceptable for me.
This means that the Berger 185 Juggernauts, which is my go to round would seat very nicely into the neck and be able to seat 0.015" OTL. Just shot my first 500 yard match this last Saturday and was very impressed with the rifles/barrels performance.

Hope that this helps.
