is 4200 FPS possible from a 20 PPC with a 39 BK

using a 26 inch barrel of standard twist??

if not what size cartridge will do 4200 FPS with the 39/40's

reason I ask is that using 4200 fps the 39 bk with a 2 inch PBR,+1.5 @ 100) I can hold dead on out to 330

I shoot the 20 Beggs ,20/220 Russian)...I am getting 4350 with 35 grain Bergers and a 26" barrel using Vit 133....I would say you should be able to reach the 4200 depending on the rest of your set up......great fun

I have a new 20 PPC that has about 50 shots through it fireforming brass. When the weather gets better here I will try and get out to do some chronographing and I will post the results. If the 20 PPC won't do what you want, you might want to check out the 20 BR as it might just do what you want perfectly.

20BR will do it Ok but the PPC ought to be pretty close. Optimum bullet for the 20BR is generally thought to be the 50 grainer in a 1 in 9 twist. That does around 3800 fps, a very efficient round.
