IOWA SHOOTERS

Van Meter just west of Des Moines has a 600y range, with separate 100 yard sight in, pistol range and a 100y Smallbore range. Great facility, need a membership to get in unless a match but very reasonable cost annually. XTC and leg match this weekend, other prone events and course matches each month.

What type of shooting do you do?

You have mail. Look at the top right of the page and click on the envelope icon. Should have a red indicator showing you have mail. I gave you some info but will need more information on where you are from and what shooting interests you have.

Clinton here. I have a private range that I can shoot out to 350yds in the summer because of the corn. Then once that is gone I can stretch it to 950yds

Thanks Much for info...will keep it in mind! Very nice of you to offer.
I'm working on a possibility a little closer right now because of gas $$

Here is my favorite range

West Liberty has a pretty good range and the local guys on the international shooting team practice there.

Homestead has a range.

The free to the public range on the Amana Road in north Johnson county is a real shit hole. Its loaded with druggies and dead beats blasting away to to see how many rounds they can get off without targets up.

True but there are walleye within earshot :)

That's what makes it my favorite range
I was actually talking about the Hawkeye WMA range on Amana Road, although the Cedar is far better for walleye IMO. Last Christmas day, the weather was so nice I thought I'd get some fresh air and sunshine and try to put my covid to bed. I launched jon boat at Green Castleand and jigged up plenty of smaller walleye while listening to thousands of rounds popped off until dark. Many, many, many, mag dumps and a gorgeous sunset.

You have to admit the Hawkeye WMA range looks a lot better since they put up chainlink fence and removed the water heaters, ovens, assorted small appliances, propane cylinders, and other trash. Of course that probably didn't change the clientele.
