IOR Valdada BR Scope

Yesterday, I received one of Valdada's new 36X BR scopes for testing. My initial tests proved that they may have a winner. It has 7-layer coating on their German glass optics for a superb image. The 1/8th minute clicks are positive and they repeat well. The reticle is a 1/8th MOA floating dot with 1 MOA hash marks for both windage and elevation. The scope has a very smooth worm gear parallax side adjustment that is marked in Meters. Overall I am impressed with the initial testing. The suggested retail is ~$1295, but I don't know what the "street" price will be. Here are a couple pictures that I will attempt to post. The first shows the scope mounted on My BAT rifle and the second shows a 3-shot group that I shot this morning (with a 6PPC at 200 yards).. James

What is the weight as I have found IOR's to be a little heavy in the past. They have always had great optics and rugged internals.

James, does this scope have a true diopter adjustment, says +2 to -2, so it can correct for vision issues. You'll find true diopters on Zeiss and Swaro scopes, but not on Leupolds. I find it very helpful for guys who do not have prescription shooting glasses.

Parallax numbers rarely match the parallax-free position for a given shooter. Therefore, having the parallax marked in meters is no big deal.

This scope also has a spring set at 45 degrees against the erector tube like the Nightforce BR model. This scope weighs 24 oz. but can be made to work in LV with the use of some of the newer lightweight stocks.

The second picture shows two 3-shot groups at 200 yards using the MOA hash marks. As you can see the two groups are 1MOA apart. So far this scope has been very precise in all of its specifications. James

It looks like a real nice scope but for 1000 bucks im not so sure a 36X fixed power scope is the way to go. there are already a few really good solid 36X scopes on the market for half the price. The Sightron Big sky has to be the best value on the market, IMHO anyway. I think a 40X would have been a better choice, or an affordable variable scope, something to compete with a march. I do however really appreciate the time Mr mock took to show us this new scope. Im more than sure it will really appeal to several shooters. Thanks Lee
