Grandpa used the old mower/hose technique back in the 60's for moles and the occasional groundhog that dug down along his house's foundation. Worked very well. My problem is those holes are on the county right of way and the land behind them belongs to a farmer down the road...though he certainly wouldn't care and has often asked me to thin out the groundhog population along the creek about 200 yards back in the field from the road and owned that old house I mentioned earlier. He gets tired of losing 5 or more acres of crop!

Every year, I had to spend a lot of time shooting the little critters because every year the pups would have to leave the nest looking for a home and my green pasture grass was too much for them to pass up.

LOL. It WAS fun at first. But after awhile, it did get boring. The coyotes who came, to try to catch them out of their holes, were much better sport. I could shoot them from inside my family room out to about 200 yards just by throwing the French doors open and sighting from a seated position, on my couch!
