Interested in 3-Gun

Hello all,
I am interested in 3 Gun and have been looking at videos and reading as much as i can get my hands on. It appears as though Michigan, particularly the West side of the state is not a very big state for 3-Gun. In addition, a lot of the videos and articles i am finding are a bit dated (6 months or older).

Can everyone help be understand more about this sport by answering some basic questions?
1. Is there a season?
2. Other than 3-gun nation, is there a way to find local matches?
3. Is there anyone in Michigan on that i can talk to about classes, training, observing, or practice ranges?
4. would you recommend getting involved, or is this a millionaires hobby?

I shot 3 gun for a couple of years so I'll try to answer some of your questions.
1. We shot the 4th Saturday of every month as long as the weather wasn't to bad.
2. See pic. These came up by Google. 3 gun competition in Mi.
3. Don't know not in Mi.
4. Its not a millionaire hobby. Its actually alot cheaper than precision shooting. If you are interested in it, then go for it. It can be alot of fun

3 gun is not a "millionaires" sport.
I don't know that there are any classes and the training is done in competitions.
Going as a spectator, watching and talking to the competitors you can get a feel for whether it is "right" for you.
The season here at our local range is from March to October but I don't think there is a "fixed" season as it has to do with weather more than anything else.
If you enjoy speed gunning that requires moderate accuracy with pistol, rifle and shotgun this is the sport for you!
Large capacity magazines are a big plus at the matches here because they don't limit the rounds in the gun like they do at other matches. If the matches require a reload with each gun then you have to get good at reloading too.
