Inspect your brass

With the shortages of reloading supplies going on right now it’s to be expected that quality control declines in an effort to keep up with demand. It’s more important now more then ever to inspect your brass. Two of these are once fired hornady 6.5 creedmoor brass and the one on top is a factory loaded round never fired. I noticed the quality of top brass reconditioned brass has gone way down too. Stay safe guys.

As stated above, it happens with most of the producers. I can't remember ever getting a box of Lapua 6BR brass that didn't have at least 2 with those creases. I think Winchester runs about 20% in the last bag I bought.

Yep, the last bag of 50 Winchester I bought had 12 cases with the neck creases. I just worked up 100 Hornady cases for my hunting rifle and all looked pretty good.

How do the creases look from the inside? On 99% of the lapua creases like that you cant find it after the first firing. Ive never seen one cracked all the way thru but be sure to check

Honestly I’m not willing to find out. I’d rather toss them now then have them split down the road when you can’t see the issues. Your definitely more experienced then me so if you say they’re safe keep in rotation then I believe you.

This must be the 'cold lap' K22 mentioned in this post:
