Initiative 594 in Washington State is poison

Initiative 594 is poison:

The state of Washington has an anti gun bill on their ballot, don't let them fool you, this bill is poison.
Initiative 594 will criminalize gun tranfers within your family and you will have to register all your guns, please go vote. This bill will force you to have your kids go through a backround check for you to give them your guns. This is mayor Bloomberg and his billions trying to buy your gun rights. You all need to get the word out folks. Everyone on this forum needs to get the word out to the folks in Washington State.

Does Washington state have a governor that is republican? Just curious. I have been taking a lot of heat for living in new York state and being told to move away to escape the laws. Let me tell you ,it will spread everywhere in a short amount of time.

Washington hasn't had a Republican governor since 1985. Washington State's Constitution is unambiguous:

SECTION 24 RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS. The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired, but nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain or employ an armed body of men.

Despite this, it is a violation of RCW 9.41.190 to possess a full-auto weapon, so definitely not the gun friendliest state. It will be worse if (more likely "when") I-594 passes.

The govenor's are falling for this crummy legislation slowly but surely. It will be only time before every state falls for the new gun laws that does nothing to stop criminals. If every state had a death penalty for the use of any weapon in the commission of a crime, crime would fall 95% in less than 6 months . They would have to carry it out swiftly to let the criminal element know they meant business or at very least life in prison with no hope of parole. The new gun laws protect the criminals be cause it emboldens them seeing as their victims are likely not to have guns or anything to protect themselves. Maybe someone such as the voters will wake up to what is really going on. In my state(NY) if our governor wins re-election he will roll out the NY Safe Act II which will be so restrictive that most people will give up their pistol permits do to cost of reregistering your permit. They are going to charge by the gun to reregister and it will cripple people financially. The progressives want them all. In my state our governor is going to ban potentially all guns with a 50 caliber bore which includes shotguns. So we will be left with 410 shotguns which are currently illegal to hunt deer with. The constituents of each state with pending legislation like this should demonstrate and recall their governor if he pulls this kind of garbage. The progressives are blinded by their own ambition of having so much power over people in general.

With the school shooting here the other day, 594 is almost sure to pass now.
594 laws would not have made any difference in this case, but for most people who just plain do not understand, it will be an emotional response to vote for it. You can't even talk reasonably with most people about the facts of 594. They just don't want to hear anything about it. They get their information from the local News media who, like all of our politicians, are pretty obviously Pro gun control.

Funny you mention the Governor Jon, Michael Bloomberg has pumped MILLIONS in to this initiative.
