Information for reloading a .260 Remington with Reloder 26

Hey guys and don't slam me for asking this information, but I can't find any information on my own and have looked through past threads under "reloading a .260". I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I recently had a Savage long range hunter chambered in .308 rebarreled to a 1-8 twist .260 Remington with a 24" barrel and just got it back. I am looking at loading up some Sierra 130 gr. tipped Gameking Gamechanger bullets. I have a good supply of Reloder 26 and also some Winchester Staball. My problem is finding loading information on either one. I called and talked to a Sierra technician today and he had no load information for the Reloder 26 with this particular bullet. When I asked about the Winchester Staball, he told me as far as he knew they haven't even tested that particular powder yet. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction and give any information on either or hopefully both of these powders. Thanks in advance.

Welcome. Keep a tight hold of your wallet. There are many guys here that will gladly help you spend your money. You won't get flamed for asking questions on this site. Sorry, I don't have any info on the .260 other then looking at it myself for a possible build.

While not apples to apples, I ran some of the new mix RL26 through my 260 Savage Model 12 with a 26" 1:8 earlier this month. I was using Peterson SRP brass, CCI 450 primers and HBN plated 142 SMK's, seated at 2.88 (kissing lands). Temperature was 72F. There started coming into their own at 44gr. With those 130s and no plating, you could start your ladder at the same charge if you're using Peterson brass. With RP brass and GM210M primers, it'll take a little higher charge as they are a lot roomier than the Petersons I have.

I forgot to add that on a follow up range visit, I found that in my rifle, jumping those 142 SMK about -20, as opposed to seating them right at the lands, netted me better groups.

Thanks guys for the information. I probably should have added I'm using ADG brass and Federal large 210M primers. Hope this helps.

Tim - My personal preference for a match load is the Lapua 123 Scenar, H4831-SC, Federal 210M, and Starline or Federal Brass. I do neck turn all of my brass. Reloder 26 is a little scarce locally, and StaBall is new and I haven't tried it.
