Info on Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 EBR-1

Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 EBR-1. Currently on sale at Eurooptic.
Does anyone have any experience with this scope? I have a friend who is new to rifle shooting and is wanting this scope. I don’t know anything about Vortex as I use Nightforce and Leupold. He wants it mainly for shooting steel and paper to 1000 yds. I told him to go with NF or Leupold but he doesn’t shoot much and doesn’t want to drop a lot of money. Opinions appreciated.

yes i do. plenty of scope for 1k. i prefer the gen 2 as it don't have that glob of a light knob on the ocular, it is on the paralax dial side.
glass is etched 4,8 ,12,16 to help find holdover line easier, but dont light the #'s when light on is a bummer!.
and i prefer ffp
i sold my 5x22x50 nxs for the pst gen 2 and in no way disappointed.
splurge for the gen 2 if ya can

add the pwr knob pecker, makes it so much easier turning the pwr ring. i popped a 550yd doe this year using hold over this year. won't be disappointed with it.

Or "save $170" gets you the rings/1 piece mount, caps, throw lever, bubble level & rear bag for free with purchase of a scope. Got one in 6-24x50 on my RPR 308. Pretty impressive & is up there with scopes double the price!

I have numerous Vipers. No complaints. I do prefer the EBR-7C reticle however. Recently bought a Vortex Venom. A little less costly and happy so far.

Does anyone have any experience with this scope?

I have 1. Nothing wrong with the scope. I bought one used in mint condition for $350. When I buy a scope, I always look for value that I can recover my $$ from if I upgrade. So I often buy used. So I wouldn't pay what the EuroOptics is asking. I have other scopes I like better but they cost more. The Sightron 8-32x56mm is probably my favorite. Can use it at 32X with no loss of light.

Vortex customer service and warranty is as good or better than anyone out there.

This is a LOT of scope for the money.
