info on redfield

I have a friend who has a Redfield purchased in 1968 and was never used 6-12 x40.....big game -varmint anyone have any comments good or bad he is contemplating selling to get a 6-24 or a 8-32 for varmint hunting.......exceptional glass thanks

Redfield was the standard by which all others were measured back in the day. My brother is a huge Redfield collector, he has numerous rifle scopes and spotting scopes. They are quality built optics and they work very well with good clear glass. The old wide views were pretty cool, I have a 3-9 on a Savage 99 in flip over rings and the bullet hits right where the cross-hair points every time. There is a company that does refurb work on them, I can't remember their name but they will change reticles add turrets and all that kind of thing at reasonable rates.

That is good info my buddy will like hearing that.....this scope was bought by his college roommate back in 68.he gave it to him recently Never been used. He is undecided to sell and take the funds for a more powerful scope....thanks for responding
