Inaccurate measurements from Stoney Point OAL Guage

I have the Stoney Point and it works fine and provides repeatable results, but it's the straight one, with a solid pushrod. The curved version (for lever actions?) with a flexible bullet pusher would seem to possibly have some inherent slop in it, but I have never tried using one. I use the aluminum comparator barrel w/ different diameter inserts, which I believe came with the Stoney Point, that attaches to a dial caliper.

One thing I did was take the time to make a dummy case for each rifle from fire-formed brass, which required drilling and tapping the cases for attachment to the Stoney Point tool. Probably overkill, that.

not over kill at all..and the curved version with the wire(speedo cable) pusher works just fine...for many years...
