It's nice to remember old friends. JVON left us 4 years ago. He may be gone but not forgotten.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."

A fellow VietNam Vet, I think of him more than occasionally.

I’ve never been in combat and can only imagine the bonds it must build!

I can see a parallel life with mine.
My father also said lucky is he who has a friend for life. My father put great value on the word, friend.

Thanks for doing this. Makes me have hope that when I am gone someone might remember me beyond an anniversary or two...not that I will be caring, but you know what I mean.

here is to friends who remember....

Glad I'm not the only one that remembers. I see them, not in death, but in their grinning, youthful faces. I see them as forever young. I believe God has a special place for the fallen soldier.

There was a picture once of some (British I think) veterans sitting inside a replica glider. All were in their 80s or older. The caption read “how we see veterans”.
To the right was a similar picture of the same group and they were all much younger adults in full combat packs like they were getting ready to be dropped into Normandy. It was titled “How they see themselves.” The picture on the left they were sitting in the same places as in the younger photo. There were some spaces.

To all vets of any conflict and of all countries: Thank you.

Any chance you can find the pic?

You are Lucky to have had a Friend...

Back in my working days , I heard this said more than once . This was the Guy at the Desk next to mine.

Someone would come up to His Desk and say “ Hi Friend “ He would say at a louder tone “ Hold it I only have one friend . You are a aqantence “.
I really think Friend meet a lot to Him also .
