I started to include this in another thread but thought it might be of interest to others who aren't reading that particular thread.
This is from the SK website. The particular type of SK ammunition referenced is indicated in the chart's left hand column.

Thanks Boyd! I use the standard and high velocity in my 22 but it is nice to see the ballistics calculated for the target ammo.

Interesting; thanks. I chronographed SK Standard Plus and Winchester T22 Match in an Anschutz Silhouette rifle and a 1911 Marvel pistol yesterday to measure the velocity difference.

What are the results that you found to have with your projectile devices?

Thank you sir for that!

The goal was to find subsonic ammo powerful and consistent enough to run the 1911 without breaking the bank. Make the spring too heavy the pistol won't eject the case and cock; too light it won't pick up a round and return to battery.

I have an old T22 lot that runs the 1911/Marvel very well. Its designed to be hotter than most target ammo, 1150 FPS. A 50 round sample of the new lot came in at 1240 FPS in the Annie and 1068 FPS in the 1911. Using a smaller sample of the SK as a baselines measured 1051 and 923 FPS. The rim thickness on the new and old T22 were nearly identical, but not as consistent as the SK. The rim width on the SK had half the variation of the T22; not certain it matters but is an indication of the manufacturing quality. This SK lot outperforms the T22's and a lot of Aguila Rifle Match, velocity extreme spread and standard deviation, but the Aguila cases which are supposedly supplied by Eley are better quality. So there is more to quality than just the case.

There was one major problem with the new T22, the neck (case directly behind the bullet) had a 1/1000's variance and was 1/1000+ larger than the old T22 and 2/1000+ larger than the SK. I could feel it when chambering the rounds in the Annie. The old T22 necks were absolutely identical. The Aguila necks were similar in size to the SK but not as consistent. Weighing the rounds the Aguila was the most inconsistent and the SK the best.

The tight tolerances of the Marvel wouldn't shoot the new T22; jam after jam after jam. But I ran a few magazines through the ever picky S&W 41 and it loved the stuff. Maybe the chamber was cut larger or it's worn after tens of thousands of rounds.

I did the testing indoors. Its hard to judge accuracy at 50 feet, but it was sufficient for pistol ammo. Bottom line: Assuming all lots are similar, probably a bad assumption, if the firearm can tolerate the sloppy necks the new T22 performed well enough for the price.

Sorry you asked?
