IMR8208 data??

Guys,

Anyone have good load data for 22BR & .222 Rem. using the new IMR 8208 and 40 & 52 gr. match bullets? I have searched and searched and nothing.

Hodgdon's 2010 Annual Manual has the 222Rem pretty well covered. I don't have the 2011 to see if they updated the 22BR. 6mmBR was updated in the 2010. Did you go to Hodgson web site?

I did go to their website. No 22BR data. I think the 8208 in theory should do really well in the 22BR

I'm up to 33.2 grains of IMR-8208 in my 26" lightweight 12 twist 600 Mohawk chambered for the 22BR..
I'm shooting strictly the 40 grain Ballistic Tips and it's doing very nice with groups running in the 3's and 4's......... So far I'm really happy with the outcome....

I looked for data on the 22 BR using 8028 when it was fairly new and got about as far as you have. A short conversation with a rep at Hodgon (let's remember that they are MARKETING, not engineering IMR powder) was not helpful. I went back to my old fav--N-135 and have never looked back.

I did find data at the Hodgon site for loading the .223 rem and if it would not work for the .222 then the end of the world is immanent.

You didn't tell me much about your rifle, chamber, OAL, Bullets, etc but here is my contribution. IMR -8208 is one the powders I have used most. Bruce Hodgdon said it was the most accurate powder he had ever been associated with. Tell me more details and I will tune the data to your application. You are on the right track.
