hi guys,need your help again,imr4895 is the only powder that i have,im shooting 223 with 52 gr speer hp and also 22-250 same bullet,can somebody help with good load with that powder? thanks guy, roly

.223 - Book calls for 22.5 to upper level of 26.5 (compressed load) for speeds of 2850 to 3202. Small Rifle Primer is what it calls for as well. Start low and work up.

22-250 - Book shows 32.5 to max of 36.5 with velos of 3230 to 3713fps from the 24" Rem700 used in testing. Large rifle primers were used for all loadings with imr4895.

Again, to be safe start low and work up.

25.5 gr is all your going to get in the 223 and it will be a mild load . 22.250 34.5 to37 gr will work 35.0 gr 50533 psi 3620 fps 37 gr 60197 psi 3819 fps on a 24'' barrel Always start low and work up. Good Shooting Larry

Nobody knows a good load for that powder because nobody knows how YOUR gun shoots. Just try loads within the SAAMI specs of your reloading manual and come to your own conclusions. I always find great accuracy and speed with IMR 4895 powder in my varmint rifles. Good luck

All of my 22-250's have always shot extremely well if I couldn't work up a load for whatever reason with 34.0 grains of IMR-4895 a 50 grain v-max in just about any case, but I have to agree with Brandon on this your rifle will dictate what it will shoot, no one can give you a absolute,..good luck.
