Imr XBR8208 308 loads

Looking for anybody using this powder with 168's and 180 grain bullets. Thanks in advance. I feel the hodgdon load data seems a little light.

It is an EXCELLENT powder for the 155 / 155.5 class weights. It is a bit on the fast side for the 175+ class. It will work, however, you will run up pressure before you get the velocity you want with the heavier projectiles commonly used in 1000 yard F-T/R..

Yes and there's good reason for your feeling that: it's a little too fast for anything beyond 155.5's.

According to the burn rate charts (if i remember right), IMR 8208 and H4895 are fairly close in burn rates but act different with heavier bullets in 308.......H4895 works well with 185s and 200s.
