IMR 8208 for 6ppc

Go over to benchrest.com and search. Lots of info.

My take away:
Some few people like it in the 6PPC. Most think it is too slow and are looking forward to LT-32.

I am shooting it in a 10 twist 6BR with midweight bullets. Really like it for that application.

I have been using it in my 6PPC with 68fb bullets and 205m's and Lapua brass. I am running more than 2g over the max load data. Actually here is what I found that made me start going over max listed data to get it to shoot better....as always proceed with caution and work up slowly if you do venture over the manufactures max data.

Here were the first 3 shots I took at this load. I stopped at 3 because I couldn't believe they were going in that tight and had to go have a look....I actually thought the other shots might have not made it to the target.

Thanks just the kind of info I was looking for.
Great shooting with Bergers. I have not been able get that good of groups with them.
31.8 seems like quite a compressed load. How did the primers look.
I also have a Panda. Just got it a couple months ago and have just done fire forming so far.
I used 68gr Bergers for that but plan to use 68grBarts Ultras. Even fire forming I was getting
1/4 groups. But that was with 27.5gr 8208.
The guy I got the gun from was shooting 29gr of 133. I have that loaded now but have so much
8208 I thought I would like to shoot that as it is so much more temp friendly.

You can PM me to email address if you like

Thanks
Ben F.

Guy goes by "Goodgrouper" on Benchrest.com has had good results with XBR.

Keep in mind that there is the first lot of it and there are all the rest (I think). The first has a burn rate that is good for the PPC. The rest has a burn rate close to 4895. So, it is kind of no wonder that it is doing well in the 6BR.

My best load in a BAT SV with Krieger barrel is 30.4-gr. 8208XBR with 205M primers and 64.2-gr. Bergers. This load will consistently put five into the "zeroes" and "ones". In my Cooper M21, 28.0 of 8208XBR with 68-gr. Bergers is best.

My primers looked ok to me. I did try that load in a Sako case and lost some primers,so I would work up. It just seemed like the hotter I ran it the better it grouped,it also worked out like that in my Ruger M77 6PPC. I could have missed a load on the lower end that would work out but I just stuck to this one.

I also had a bunch of it and wanted to use it as well, once it's gone I might try something else,N133-N135 is a little bit tougher to find on the shelf around here. Also gonna try to use the Berger column bullets some too.

I tried it it shoots ok but I fill the case 1/8" from the top then seat the bullet. I don't really care for powders where adjusting the load only means going slower. So I tried it in 20 PPC and it has more usefulness in that chambering. Was my main crow load this past summer but now have moved to Ramshot X-Terminator. Wonderful powder, and I have 40lbs of it to make disappear. ::)

i got sopme 8208 that was from a friend but its only 1 lb of it.shot 50 rounds to fire form lapua cases with berger 68 grain and 27.5 grains.using 7 1/2 remington primers also.the rifle is a stole panda action lv hart barrel i / 14 twist barrel.
