IMR 800x

Just got back from my LGS and picked up 3lbs of N310 and 2lbs of N340 plus 1lb of IMR 800x. The reason I picked up the 800x was because I thought I had seen it in some of my reload manuals but only found a couple of data for 40 S&W.

Anyone here use this 800x for any of their reloads and if so what calibers?

Works great in moderate to heavy .38 Special loads as well as .357 Magnum. Also works in .44 magnum if you do not need astronomical velocities. About the same burn rate as Power Pistol.

Thanks guys.
I've got pistols in 380 auto, 9mm, 40 S&W, 38 special/357 mag, and 45 ACP. I'll just be loading for plinking at the range, nothing special.

I did go through 4 of my manuals and found some data using it but not a lot.

Google: IMR Handloaders Guide
It is different than the Hodgdon reloading site. It is a pdf of IMR powders and loads that is very helpful for their powders and their many uses. Found it by accident.

I use 3.0 Grains in .222 and .223 with 40 grain vmax for reduced loads. You will love it........Meters kind of ugly though. James Calhoon's website has informative articles on these loads.

Thanks guys I'll check out that PDF and I also have a couple AR's so the info on the 223 is helpful too.

It wont produce enough gas to cycle your AR. If shooting those reduced loads you need to use a bolt rifle or manually cycle the AR. Great load for kids.
