IMR 7383 or RAD 78L powder for .223/5.56?

Hi, does anyone have personal experience using these powders for reloading .223/5.56 with 62gr fmjbt? If so, what data did you use and how did it perform?

Thinking of buying some for plinking purpose.... not further than 100 yds, shooting at steel silhouettes. Thanks.

IMR 7383 is supposed to have a very similar burn rate (and load data) to 4831. Seems way too slow for a .223.

That's why I'm trying to see if anyone here has first-hand experience using it with .223 cos the label on the jug says 23gr with 62gr projectiles.

FYI, Tried 23 grains in my 5.56/2.23. It worked great and gave a clean burn... NO UNBURNED powder in the barrel while using 62 grain jacketed bullets. BEWARE this puts the load as being slightly compressed. I tapped the case after adding the powder to settle it, but there will still be some slight compression when you seat the bullet. You should likely start somewhere around 22.4 grains and work up slowly (.2 grains at a time) to test your results. READ ALL the warnings about the PEAKINESS of this powder and DO NOT go beyond the first CLEAN burn.
