Imr 4955

A friend gave me several pounds of 4955. He said he'll never use it because his barrel was replaced with a different chambering.

Did anyone have a pet load using this powder?

What cartridge I've used it in 30-06 with 185gr bullets, and in a 6.5 cm with 140s.
It shot well in both but was to slow and dirty in the 6.5, accuracy and speed was there with the 30-06.
I was researching 280ai load data this week and Nosler has it listed under a couple different bullet weights, given my prior success with 4955 in the 06' I'll be starting load work with it.

Good to know. Maybe I will try it in my 3006. Seems like it could work in 260ai.? Maybe. I have 36lb to play with, surely I can find something to like it. Might even try some in 6mm creedmoor.

Did you find it closer to H4350 or H4831SC?

In my 06' it was 20 fps slower than my H4350 load, looking at burn speed charts it's closer to h4831sc wich is why we tried it in a buddies 6.5.
