IMR 4166 for heavy bullet performance in .223 rem

I just bought a pound of imr4166 (last one) at Scheels in Fargo and want to do some load development when the weather improves. I am planning to use 75gr A-Max and 80 gr SMK both moly coated in 24" Sako 1:8 twist. Has anyone done some preliminary load testing to see if this new powder can do well in heavy bullets in .223?
I am going to use Wolf primers (what i have) but would like to hear if you think it needs hotter ones.

Use 4064 data and drop 10% to start. - you won't know if it is good until you try it.

IMR-4166 is supposed to be a good choice, I've heard good results. Please post if you like it!

I bought 1k wolf primers from Gunstop reloading supplies in Minnetonka MN. They are the best for obscure reloading parts and suppplies. Unfortunately they dont ship powder or primers. If you need directions take any road down to the twin cities, take hwy 100 to excelcior blvd and head west for bout 7 miles. Its in a strip mall on the north side and the guys are great.

Let's keep that place a secret for a little while longer..... ;)

I've been running 20.8 gr of IMR 8208 XBR with the 80 gr SMK....it shoots .219 5 shot groups at @ 200 yards. I'll be interested to see what you come up with. The 80gr SMK is a great bullet, but I believe running it in an AI chamber would increase and enhance its performance considerably. Might be time for me to build another rifle to test my theory ;D
