Important Price Notice for CC Caddies <Deliver Before Christmas! 18 Dec Update>

Fellow Accurate Shooters -

Days ago I ran out of the Walnut stock I use for the Competition Cartridge Caddies I have been making and rather successfully selling, on the forum as well as at the range. I looked for the Walnut locally (50-mile radius) but what I found was way more expensive, and delivery was too long. You see, I wanted to make Walnut Caddies for 6.5-284 & .308, which I ran out of, in time for Christmas.

I contacted my regular supplier in Ohio, and just yesterday I learned that the cost of Walnut has increased appreciably. Even absorbing some of the cost increase myself, I will have to raise the price of the Walnut Caddies from $75 to $80, which price includes the Timer and shipping, as always.

I have no clue if this price increase would put the Walnut CC Caddies out of favor. So far, everyone who has bought my Caddies have had nothing to say but praise (Thank You!), but sometimes just a few dollars can make a difference. Any comments or advice would be welcomed.

In the meantime – the good news: I found enough Walnut to make four more Caddies, I have started them (for 6.5-284 & .308), and these will ready to ship early next week. They take two to three days for delivery via USPS Priority. (One of these has already been spoken for, and another is a ‘maybe’.)

I will sell these new Caddies; together with the other Walnut Caddies I have (for 6mm & 30BR, and one 6PPC) for the same 'old' price of $75. The Oak Caddies remain the same price of $65 for the time being.

Re: Important Price Notice for CC Caddies

Thank you, Jefferson!

And a lot of our fellow shooters agree ;)

As of this morning I have only two Walnut Caddies left altogether, at the $75 price:

(1) 25-round for 6.5-284 / 308

and

(1) 22-round(*) for 6mm / 30BR

(*) I can add two holes to the 22 rounder and make it 24.

These are listed, together with the other (few) Oak CC Caddies and Walnut joystick Caddies, here:

Nando, Check with my buddies at Hearne:

They literally have TONS of different types of walnut and they are gun enthusiasts too.

Still have some CC Caddies left in Walnut, Walnut & Oak, and Oak.

If I ship them no later than tomorrow, they should arrive by Wednesday.

USPS Priority had been taking mostly two days to deliver the Caddies I have shipped, with a three-day occasional delivery. However, the ones I shipped this week have been scheduled for three or four day delivery - it must be that time of the year ;).

The CC Caddies available can be seen here:

Mine with 22 holes and the flip up timer arrived a day early. I am very pleased with the workmanship, design, and materials.

Thanks!

Michael,

Thank you for your kind words.

I still have some left, such as:

Hey there, Nando. Nice work. I have a bunch of eastern walnut in my shop in1 in and 2 in. Thickness. (Rough) I was going to use it for furniture, but a lot of it is too small and twisted to get any useful long stock out of it. Seems like it would be perfect for your use. I saw your work and thought about doing some, myself, but that just didn't seem right. It's been air dried for 40 yrs. how about a deal? You pay shipping. I'll send a bunch to you and you give Accurate shooters Members a small discount on your work. Message me, here, if that tickles ya. It is Christmas! I like to help out fellow woodworkers. Merry Christmas, Josh.

Just another thought for your on going effort. Have you ever tried Epe ? It's the "new, dark deck material. A mohagany, of sorts. Very dense. Beautiful grain and color. Comes in 2X4, 4X4, and 1X6 for decks. Around here, it's in every lumber store. Cheaper than walnut and much denser. Harder, so it doesn't dent easily. Might want to try some, Josh. I have some pieces, I can throw in with the walnut.
