Illuminated reticle useful for F class?

Any of you guys ever turn on your reticle illumination, assuming you have one, while shooting F Class? If so, when do you find this feature useful?

Thanks.

I've got one on my Vortex - I turned it on once the first outing I had and didn't find it terribly useful... apparently I forgot to turn it off as the battery is dead 18 months later.

I sometimes turn on the one in my NXS. It's not very bright but it does help distinguish the reticle on the target in the early morning.

I've spoken to a few guys who have turned on their illuminated reticles, and I tried it a few times in bad light situations, but I never found much utility in it.

For F-Class, not worth the weight and complexity IMO.

Turned on the one in my NF just to see it work. Never done it since.

I have heard of some people using them in late matches or bad lighting conditions, but I've not had a reason in my three yrs of competition shooting.

Used mine today in a BR 12-42 model. We had lots of wind, cloudy, with rain...it helped. First time I have used it in 2 years.
