iGaging Origin - Support

The iGaging Absolute Origin is a commonly recommended caliper as a budget buy, they're $40. Mine worked great for a year before I noticed the plastic housing crack (starting at the screw hole on the back). I appreciate the irony of the crack running through the IP54 marking. They haven't been dropped or abused.

iGaging doesn't answer support emails, the two year warranty will be up to you and the vendor. There are other reviews on Amazon that confirm they don't answer emails. I got mine through Brownells, so I'll get store credit on the return since it's beyond 45 days. I will likely avoid recommending them. I would not have bought it if I thought there was (effectively) no manufacturer warranty.

YMMV.

Mine have survived 3+ years so far of my need for reading glasses fumbles. I was afraid to spend more for a higher quality, only 2 batteries so far and I have forgotten to turn off a time or 2. Fine for measuring cartridges, cases comparing objects to 0.001.

I'm not surprised that yours have worked fine, the reviews online are mostly favorable.

I've forgotten to turn mine off more than a few times, I wish it had an auto-off.
