If you Can't See Classifieds on Right (with FireFox) Read This (Fix Routine)

The latest versions of FireFox browser may remove the Classified Ads Feed on the right side of the Forum. From what we can tell, this is a function of the FireFox "pop-up Blocker". There is a simple work-around.

First go to Tools > Clear Recent History

Delete Everything (except passwords), including site preferences (WARNING this can affect your other sites).

Close Firefox.

Next, reopen Firefox. Go to Tools > Options > Content Tab (at top)

You'll see an entry for "Block Pop-up Windows". To the right it says "Exceptions". Click Exceptions, then enter http://www.accurateshooter.com" as an allowed site. Save that.

Click on Exceptions again to make sure www.accurateshooter.com is listed as exception to pop-up blocker.

We haven't seen this issue with other browsers.

I just tried with IE8 and it is working fine (right classifieds display). I haven't set www.accurateshooter.com as preferred site. It works with the "pop-up blocker" turned on, with "Medium" setting. If you want to set IE's pop-up blocker on "high" then list www.accurateshooter.com as an allowed site.

I'm running IE8 w/pop-up blocker at medium and it's not there,, TY for the fix by adding the site, but I'm quit content with it not being there.
I get a larger view of the main page and I check the classifieds 2-3 times daily anyways ;D

Tried the Firefox fix, and it still does not work.

Accurateshooter.com was already in the execptions ALLOW box.

We didn't change a thing. The classifieds unit has never been changed in over a year.

Firefox patched something.

NOTE, you may have to CLEAR YOUR CACHE, Browsing History, and cookies, and DELETE Site Preferences for the Firefox FIX to work.

YES it IS possible to see the right-side ads with Firefox. I am doing so right now.

If Tools > Options > Content doesn't do it for you, try this too...

Tools > Page Info > Permissions > Open Pop-Up Windows > Allow

Do this while on the forum. This will set permissions for this site ONLY.

Just for info, "Boss", I have both Firefox and IE8 (my usual browser) running right now: the classifieds window works fine in Firefox and not in IE8.

I think something has changed, even though not intentional, because until late yesterday they have worked fine in my IE8 on this computer and Firefox on another. Yesterday they didn't work on either. Earlier today they worked fine on both. Right now they don't show on IE8 and do show on Firefox. I have done nothing to either browser.

JDM, the Classifieds on the main forum page are down below the "Top Level Forums" and called "Marketplace", etc.

I had the problem in Firefox on my IMAC. The routine solved it even though the popup choice needs to made through "Preferences."

Joe, it's just down the main page a bit, hit "Top Level Forums" and look down to
" Marketplace: Sell, Trade, WTB Listings (No Fee)",,
,,Then pick the topics,,

Do you have any suggestions to my fix i dont use firefox and all work well on this site until two days ago and it not just one cumputer it a few of them i even tried the one at work and the same thing and i see it not just me !! ??? ???
